Acceptable Use Policy
Bowl For Fun, Hosts and Channel Operators
reserve the right to permanently ban any user or complete service provider from the use of
the chat room for a variety of reasons. As much as we like to keep the chat room
available to everyone, there are times when it is necessary to kick-ban users. Bowl
For Fun, Hosts and Channel Operators do not discriminate against users based on race,
gender, age, etc. #bowlers-chat is "as-is" without warranty.

AUP and Guidelines
Because our chat-room is accessible to children, we ask
that you conduct yourself in a pleasant manner. I hate the word
"RULES". It's almost like saying "We are going to censor
you!". Well, that's not (really) the case. There's a limit. Mild
and Moderate is one thing, Excessive and Abusive is another. (Rules are made to be broken
as everyone knows.) These are simple requests. If you don't agree with the
guidelines, please visit another time when you do or go elsewhere, we simply don't want
trouble in our chat room. We frown on foul potty-mouths with a bad attitude.
Because we promote a relaxed atmosphere, please be aware
that we don't always talk about bowling. But if you have a burning question or issue
which pertains to bowling, feel free to interrupt our psycho-babble. The chat room
is moderated by operators when they are available (usually in the evening time during
"prime time hours") and we try to watch the chat room as best as we can.
Most all of our troublemakers that we see aren't even
bowlers, they just want to stir up trouble. We do not have the power to stop the
private queries from outside the chat room, so if you do receive those and it's a bunch of
junk, just leave the query window minimized or else the person will continue to bug you.
This rarely happens.
What will not be
tolerated:
- Excessive use of profanity.
Sometimes we can't just help ourselves and that's okay, but keep it down to a minimum.
- DCC transmission of SEXUALLY EXPLICIT
(pornographic materials) to other users who do not wish to accept this type of garbage.
- Engaging or attempting to engage in "hot
chats" with other users. Just assume that everyone is under the
age of 18. Ages are not always verifiable. Keep it clean.
- #bowlers-chat is not a "meet market."
Please do not treat it as such.
- No Private Messaging/Querying without
permission. Please ask the other party for permission before
irritating them with query boxes.
- Harassment and verbal
abuse of other chat room users. If you have a beef with someone, take
it to private. Don't let it bleed into the public chat room.
- Do not beg for Operator status.
If you want operator status, go to the Super-chat homepage and create your own chat room.
- Please respect the Touring Pros.
Don't hassle them unless they want to be annoyed. They are people who have a passion
for bowling and we're lucky to have them in our chat room.
Actions that may be
taken:
- 1 Warning will be given by
an Operator if one is present.
- 2nd Warning will cause you
will be kicked and banned from the chat room for 24-72 hours. Depending on the
severity, it may be permanent.
- If no operators are available and we receive
a complaint from another user about your actions, we will permanently ban you from the
chat room at our first opportunity.
- Temporary ban logs are
checked regularly by the main chat room operator, if enough complaints about a person in
the temporary ban log is brought to my attention, a permanent ban will follow.
